Your new job

As a youth care worker, you will be responsible, together with your colleagues, for the daily care of the youth in a home-like environment. Motivation, structure, support, and trust are essential parts of the work. Encouraging school attendance and leisure activities is a natural part of the role. The work is based on a systemic approach aimed at releasing resources within the individual, the family, and the entire network. Various forms of treatment conversations are included in the treatment offerings to achieve change, including both individual sessions and parental support conversations.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone who is studying or has completed studies in social work, social pedagogy, treatment pedagogy, occupational therapy, nursing, or has another relevant degree of at least 2 years at the post-secondary level.

You are a stable person who can provide respectful interactions and create a balance for treatment success. Furthermore, we see you as a trustworthy person who can establish and maintain good relationships with youth and their relatives. In the recruitment process, we place great importance on personal suitability.

Administrative experience is a prerequisite for managing documentation in the work.

A driving license (B) is required for the position, and you should be able to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles in your work.

Meritorious

Experience working with youth exhibiting various types of problematic behavior is an advantage.

Training in systems theory, low-arousal approaches in practice, attachment theory, dialectical behavior therapy, and neuropsychiatry/psychiatry, as well as knowledge of laws in the social field, BBIC, MI, ICDP, TMO, Signs of Safety, and solution-focused thinking is also meritorious.

Welcome to us

HVB Kärrarp is organized within the municipality's Individual and Family Care. The target group is girls aged 13–20 with psychosocial issues, behavioral problems, and/or neuropsychiatric disabilities. The accommodation has seven places and one emergency place, with placements supported by SoL or LVU. We operate 24/7 and currently have awake night staff and a sleeping on-call service at night, along with 2-3 staff during the day and evening, as well as a coordinator and unit manager.

At HVB Prinseryd, boys aged 13-20 with psychosocial issues, behavioral problems, and/or neuropsychiatric disabilities reside. The accommodation has 8 places and also allows for emergency placements around the clock. Placements are made with support from SoL or LVU. The staff work together with the youth to help daily life function. Motivation, structure, support, and trust are key components of the work.

The operation is based on a systems theory foundation and a health-promoting approach. What already works should be utilized. Great emphasis is placed on social skills training, working with families and networks, and ensuring functional schooling. The operation has a clear focus on creating good relationships between youth and staff. Being understood, listened to, and taken seriously is seen as a prerequisite for change to occur. The youth should encounter a predictable structure, intensity in treatment, and constant adult presence.

Good to know

The recruitment concerns several substitute positions, where you will work as needed by the operation, with start and end dates as agreed. Scheduled working hours include days, evenings, on-call, and weekend shifts. We use ongoing selection.

In your application, we would like you to include a personal letter, a CV, and an attached diploma from your education. All your employment must be verifiable, and it should be clear what extent you have worked, what type of employment has been relevant, and what position you have held.

At the job interview, you must provide an extract from the National Police Board's criminal and suspicion register according to the provisions of the law (2007:171) on background checks at such homes for care or accommodation that receive children. Order this in good time and bring it with you to the interview.
